Allergic to bandaid adhesive..what do I do?
I seem to be allergic to any type of bandage adhesive. Any time I use any type of bandaids or tape with gauze I get these terrible bruises and welts on my skin and it turns very red and it’s SO painful while they are on and after I take them off. I have to use them for a wound that I have. Anybody have experiences like this? What do you use? I’m desperate for suggestions!
Yes. You are allergic to Latex. There are latex free bandages available. Get those, and you won’t have a problem. The tape is another story all together. Make sure it says “Sensitive Skin” Paper Tape. That one is not half as bad as the regular tape used to attach gauze to wounds.
