Can I use the home fragrance oils from Bath & Body Works to make my own candles?
I’m wanting to try my hand at making my own candles and I’m wondering if I can use one of the (many) home fragrance oils I have from Bath & Body Works…or if that wouldn’t work well with the wax? Any ideas? Also, any tips you might have are more than welcome. Ten points for best answer!
Some ingrediants in lotions and sprays are highly flammable, while you are making candles to burn them, you don’t want a flaming jar of wax atop your dresser. The best option is to find essential oils. very small amounts can be used to create highly aromatic scents, so it’s more affordable as well. You can try duplicating the scents by purchasing essential oils that make up the bath and body works product. For instance, Juniper Breeze lotion can be recreated by adding Juniper and sandalwood essential oils. By reading the labels on the Bath and Body works product, (both ingredient label and front label) you should be able to get a good idea of the scent you are creating.
