Could it be dangerous to use broken CPAP mask?
I use a CPAP machine to sleep; it’s a resmed device and the mask is a full face mask. It has an “anti-asphyxia valve” (the elbow assembly) that has broken. I have used pvc tape to hold it together, but it’s covering the vents. I’m wondering if I am risking asphyxiating myself? I have a new valve on order, but in the meantime, I’m not sure if it’s better to stop using the machine or use it patched up as it is. Thanks!
is it the small clip on the side of the rotating collar? if so take the tape off and lodge a toothpick into the side of the collar to hold the clip, it will still leak some air but better than sleeping without the air flow. good luck
