If both eyes cross alternately, patching will not help you. Patching only helps if one eye is crossed. You may benefit from eye muscle exercises if the eye crossing is minimal to help stregnthen the muscles. Your best bet is to be evaluated by a Pediatric Opthalmologist (a specialist in eye crossing/drifting), and if he/she recommends eye exercises he/she will refer your to their Orthoptist who helps recommend exercises based on your eye crossing to stregnthen the eye muscles. If it is a large amount of crossing the doctor will probably recommend eye muscle surgery. Do you have double vision? Eye exercises will help with that, if so. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
