How much to convert a boiler/radiators to forced air?
I am thinking of buying a house and it is about 100 years old. It has a boiler that looks like it should be in a museum somewhere and I am thinking of converting it to a forced air system so I can also have air conditioning. Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much this would cost? Just a ballpark…$10,000? $50,000? I know it will be expensive with all the ductwork and everything. The house is two story and has about 1800 sf. Thanks.
$10K should about cover everything. This,of course,will depend on the homes construction. Different types of construction can make the job easier or much harder depending on the type of construction. The mentioned price would be for the equipment and duct work. Labor could add a significant amount to the $10K. Get quotes from reputable HVAC contractors! Good luck!
