Horse has swollen neck 1/2 way down, bad breath, left nasal discharge. Previous treated for respiratory infec?
Has been treated for respiratory infection by riding instructor(naxcel) and then by the vet(sulfa). Neck swelling has just showed up recently and is half way down her neck like she swallowed a smashed nurf football, larger on the left side.
The bad breath and nasal discharge are signs of infection. It could be sinus or guttural pouch infection, and could be combined with infection of deeper respiratory airways. The swelling in her neck could be from an allergic response, circulatory obstruction, glandular enlargement, abscess formation, hematoma, and so forth. The horse requires veterinary evaluation asap.
